Jack cutting off Chase's hand conflict would be interesting. Chase steps to up Jack, and tries to slap his face but his hand is missing. "Feel that Jack? Feel that?" "No! Actually...I didn't . But you ran out on my daughter...so I brought my axe. When I'm done with you, you are going to wish you felt this good again!" ROFL! Poor Chase. Poor Jack. They *so* deserve each other. Well, you see, there's spoilers, and then there's spoilers. Casting spoilers I can't avoid, so there's not much point even trying. I figure anything out abour season 8 now is general enough, or unreliable enough, I don't mind hearing it. I think if they're in New York they can hardly avoid some reference to 911. Hopefully, they'll do it subtly, poignantly. They don't want to be seen as 'cashing in'. [/quote]

The eighth season will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television It has been stated that the events of day 8 will take place one year and a half to two years and that Jack Bauer will be working for the United Nations, Renee's past will be explored and the plot will be about the indian president and an assassination plot set to be made against him before a peace treaty is signed.

Good. Plot-wise, if they give themselves longer between seasons, they give themselves more flexibility, and more interest. I can also see the UN as a natural path for Jack's career at this point. Also gives a chance for a more multi-national cast, again more scope in the plot.

It's November. That's a month. Then it'll be December. That's another month, but with Christmas it always goes quicker. Then it will be January. 2010. And in January, they will start to broadcast --- ... 24! New 24! Sam, I think we need a folder for season 8.
